From Wintersportgoedkoop to Nivosola: nearly 20 years on the trail of the perfect winter holiday.

It started on the slopes, in 2006

Nivosola did not start in 2026. It started in 2006, under a different name: Wintersportgoedkoop. Back then we had one simple frustration — finding a good, affordable ski holiday meant opening ten tabs, comparing the same hotels across a dozen tour operators, and still never being sure you had the best price. So we built a place that did the comparing for you.

For almost twenty years we did exactly that for Dutch winter-sports lovers: gathering the offers of the big, reliable operators and laying them side by side, season after season. We got to know the difference between a wide, sunny beginner area and a snow-sure glacier, between a lively apres-ski village and a quiet family resort.

2026: a new name, a bigger horizon

After all those years we felt the old name had become too small for what we do. We no longer just chase the lowest price — we help you choose the right place, with real data behind every decision. And winter, for us, was never only about snow: just as many travellers escape the grey months by heading for the sun.

So in 2026 we became Nivosola — from the Latin nivo (snow) and sol (sun). One platform for both faces of winter: the slopes of the Alps and the warm shores of the Canaries, Egypt and beyond.

What makes us different now

The rebrand was not just a logo. We rebuilt the site around something no other Dutch comparison site offers: an interactive map combined with genuine, verifiable data. Every ski area shows its real number of lifts and kilometres of piste (from OpenStreetMap) and its historical snow depth; every sun destination shows its monthly air and sea temperature and hours of sunshine (from Open-Meteo). Prices refresh every day.
